What Happened

Medulance announced a ₹24 Cr (approximately $2.5 Mn) Series A round led by Auxano Capital, with participation from existing backers Blume Ventures, IvyCap Ventures and a group of angel investors. The capital will be used to expand its fleet, upgrade its AI‑powered dispatch platform and hire operations staff in new markets. The round values the company at roughly ₹120 Cr post‑money.

Medulance currently operates about 1,200 ambulances across 15 Indian states, handling an average of 30,000 rides per month. With the new funds it aims to grow the fleet to 2,000 vehicles and extend coverage to 30 states by FY26, focusing on underserved Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 regions where public ambulance response times often exceed 30 minutes.

Why It Matters

India’s emergency medical services remain fragmented; public ambulances are frequently delayed while private services can be prohibitively expensive. Medulance’s tech‑enabled model offers real‑time GPS tracking, transparent pricing and seamless hospital integration, directly addressing these gaps. Scaling this network can improve survival rates for time‑critical conditions such as cardiac arrest, stroke and trauma.

The investment also signals renewed investor confidence in health‑tech infrastructure after a slowdown in early‑stage deals during 2023‑24. It puts pressure on incumbent providers like Ziqitza Healthcare and state‑run EMS to adopt similar technology, potentially accelerating a nationwide shift toward digitized, accountable emergency response.
